The figures of the close agreement between Atlético and Barça for Griezmann

Atlético de Madrid, especially its coach, Diego Pablo Simeone, is close to breathing easy on a matter that has worried him since the start of the season. We talk, of course, about Antoine Griezmann.

We refer to the impossibility of using more than 30 minutes per game so that they do not count for the purposes of having to pay the mandatory purchase clause (40 million euros) to Barça if it exceeds 50% of the games played in the two years of loan. The mattress box did not want to pay that amount, understanding that it was out of the market.

Hence, contacts were maintained between both parties to resolve the matter. And now, as confirmed by Mundo Deportivo from Atlético sources who are optimistic about the resolution of the matter, the issue is close to having a happy ending for all parties. Barça did not want to recover him (because of the high record he had, which threatened to distort the 'financial fair play').

This newspaper has already been revealing the state of the situation for months. Since Atlético had no intention of paying the full amount of the transfer, going through Barça's intention to negotiate, up to this current point, close to the agreement.

The Frenchman did not want to move from Madrid, where he is happy with his family and at the club. And Simeone did not want to lose him and wanted to be able to count on him from the start in the games. Until now he had only been able to do it in two, Real Madrid and Bruges, both with defeats.

The fact is that everything indicates that the agreement will be close to 20 million euros, plus another two for bonus goals easily fit for Barça, which renounces the initial 40 million euros but secures more than half; and the scenario by which Atlético could only use the player for half an hour per game is annulled.

Mundo Deportivo already told you a few days ago that FC Barcelona wanted to have everything resolved before the World Cup in Qatar, even before the mattress box and the Catalan meet, in a few weeks, at the Metropolitan.
